A Tiny Peek of Church & State Fall 2008

In my mind's eye, I approach the fall season in Church & State f/w 08 garb and multiple varations therewith, a picture-perfect, classicly-themed imaginary movie of my life. I won't spoil it for you now, but the fall line is wonderful. Considering who we're dealing with, I wouldn't expect any less.

Of the Navy Persuasion

As requested, here are more pictures of the Church & State blouse: Peter Pan collar, cascading scalloped ruffles--pretty darn adorable. I'll post these up on the shop.
As you can see below, the belt is removable, and this blouse is very versatile. This seems more prim and proper and, I think, works even for a more conservative office.

Here, I paired it with my current-favorite vintage necklace and (surprise, surprise) my Rachel Comey skinny belt.

Also, we have one more pair of the Mociun high-waisted shorts in navy, size small.

Church & State

In all other circumstances, and as a result of many years of mindnumbing brainwashing, the words "church" and "state" together automatically conjure for me (in an almost Pavlovian sense) connotations of dissonance, of dichotomous pairings.

Apparently, that is NOT the case with Portland design darlings Church & State. Church & State is Rachel Turk and Nathaniel Crissman, a lovely design due and couple who has been designing and churning out charming pieces for as long as I can remember ... or as long as we've been in Portland.

For spring, I'm particularly smitten with the Homesafe dress (above left), as I usually cannot get enough ruffles ... oh, and the Sunday blouse in navy which is perfect for perfectly sweet Sunday strolls. And, before I forget, I'll take the Workhorse jacket, as well.

In fact, I'll just take it all.
